As part of the 2009 One Book One Valley, the Effingham Public library will host "In Our Own Voice," a program by NAMI (National Alliance on Mental Health) NH-trained presenter Lisa Mercado. Lisa will share her personal story and answer audience questions. "In Our Own Voice" programs are intended to increase public understanding of how individuals with mental illness cope with their symptoms, recover, and go on to lead productive lives with hope, meaning and dignity.
