The Effingham Public Library is pleased to feature the watercolors of Ossipee resident Kate Heckel now through January, 2010.Kate writes that she was "raised in an 'art-full' home with a somewhat Bohemian lifestyle. We traveled frequently up and down the Eastern coastline- from Nova Scotia to Key West, Florida. My parents opened many perspectives for me early on.
"Then came my husband, Fritz Heckel, who is also my partner (in both the parenting and business worlds), friend, framer and tour guide.Fritz has encouraged me through mosquito swamps, warm lively beaches and campgrounds across the country in search of the perfect fishing spots, which are, coincidentally, ideal locations for on-site artistic endeavors.
"My experiences, education and personal relationships have manifested into my brief visual 'snapshots' presented in a mixed medium pallet with a concentration in watercolor.
"Thanks to all along the way."
